11/19/18 - Grade 4 field trip to Suwolbong Geo Trail
11/16/18 - Go Dragons! We were able to watch a little of the Varsity Girls Volleyball tournament today. It's so exciting to cheer for our older Dragons and see such great sportsmanship on the court.
11/15/18 - Our Extreme Weather experts are busy using non-fiction books, articles, and videos to research their extreme weather phenomena in 4A.
11/14/18 - 4A Geniuses are at it again! Kevin taught us about some of the causes of global warming and how we can help. Kelly taught us how to make an origami ghost. And Henry made some yummy banana pancakes. The students love that they are able to learn about something that interests them, and then share their learning with their classmates. We are improving our researching and presenting skills!
11/14/18 - 4A and 4D scientists were hard at work, making food chains by playing “Eat or be eaten.” We are learning how living organisms in every ecosystem are connected to each other in many ways.
11/7/18 - More Genius Hour presentations from 4A students Jun and Lahe. We learned about the harm done to animals when we do not throw away our trash properly, and how to make delicious blueberry pancakes. These students did a great job presenting their learning to the class!
10/31/18 - 4A students Kelly, Andrew, Bella, and Jenny presented their Genius Hour projects. They taught us about making the perfect waffles, understanding dog languages, protecting ourselves during earthquakes, and solving the problem of global warming. How informative and interesting to see these students present on topics they feel passionate about!
10/16/2018 - In all classes we took our reading pre-assessment. Our focus is summarizing nonfiction texts and synthesizing information from more than one text. It's going to be a great unit!
10/15/18 - 4A scientists were leaf-litter critter collectors today. Look at all the neat critters we found on this beautiful day!

10/3/18 - Sunny presented her Genius Hour project on Global Climate Change to 4A. We learned that we need to make changes to save our planet!
9/28/18 - A very colorful Fire Drill!
9/28/18 - Community Time! The purple Color War team showed their school and Homeroom spirit today! Students made their class name with their bodies, communicating with no words at all. Can you see 4A, 4B, 4C, and 4D spelled out on the floor?
9/27/18 - Adventure Day at Jeolmul Forest. What a beautiful and fun day!
9/21/18 - Community Time! Continuing to focus on our Fundamental 4 of Communication, students told group stories, one word at a time. The results were quite entertaining!
9/19/18 - Genius Hour presentation in 4A with Eileen. She taught us how to play two traditional Korean games. What fun!
9/14/18 - What a great presentation about our Adventure Day trip to Jeolmul Forest! We are all looking forward to our day of fun hiking and exploring this beautiful forest ecosystem.
9/12/18 - Genius Hour presentation in 4A with Kelly. She taught us how to make the most delicious waffles. Yum!
9/7/18 - 4A students communicated and collaborated with their Writing Workshop partners, as they worked to bring their characters to life in their writing. Oh, and it was Dress Like an Animal Day!

8/24/18 - Mr. G. led today's Grade 4 Community Time. Students used their communication skills to create collaborative pictures of one another. We ended up with some pretty silly drawings!
8/15/18 - 4A students collaborated to make a massive marble run during indoor recess. What a fun way to use the Fundamental 4!
8/13-15/18 - Booknado! A disastrous event came through the 4th grade classrooms! Booknado caused all of the books from the classroom libraries to fly off the shelves and on to the floor! The students then organized the books, deciding on the categories and ways they wanted to have their library organized. Now we know where we can find ALL the books in our classroom libraries!
8/9/18 - First Day Assembly with Mr. French (ES Principal), Ms. Kohtala (ES Associate Principal), and Ms. Cook (Gr4-5 Counselor). Mr. Dan (Design Thinking Teacher) snuck in for a group selfie!
