Ms. Jessica Charvat
Hello! I'm so excited to be teaching my second year at KISJ. This is my fifth year teaching fourth grade and my 9th year teaching internationally. I've taught in Myanmar, Thailand, and now I'm happy to call Jeju home.
I graduated from California State University with a BA in Liberal Studies and a California State teaching credential. Later I received my MS from SUNY Buffalo State in Multidisciplinary Studies. I love education and will continue learning throughout the rest of my life. Two years ago I completed a Mass Offered Online Course (MOOC) through Cornell University that taught all about sharks, it was so interesting!
One thing you'll quickly learn about me is that I LOVE animals. I have two dogs and one cat; Sasha, Mee Mee, and Meena. My favorite place in the world to visit and volunteer is the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand because it is a place where a lot of animals are rescued and cared for, not just elephants. They also have dogs, cows, water buffalo, cats, a pony, and they even had a moon bear for a while.
Some things I enjoy doing outside of school are riding my bicycle, doing yoga, reading fiction, and baking.
